Fruit is sourced from up to 10 Barossa vineyards predominantly coming from the higher altitude, cooler sites of Eden Valley. The wine allows a preview, or snapshot, of the vintage quality to come. The wine always receives 12 months barrel maturation in a majority older French oak (228L barrique), 5% of which is new, allowing the vintage and Barossa character to show clearly. This is a chance for me to play with the old adage, ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. Certainly, the best value, most traditional style and most popular wine of the portfolio.
