Located in the heart of the beautiful Margaret River Wine region of Western Australia, Amelia Park Wines was established in 2009 by Jeremy & Daniela Gordon and Peter Walsh. Combining leading edge techniques with traditional winemaking values and practices, winemaker and co-owner Jeremy Gordon believes success starts in the vineyard, where great wines are grown from superior and consistent fruit quality. The resulting wines are elegant, fruit-driven varietals, complex in structure yet easily and irresistibly enjoyable.
As this wine is a blend , there are number of picks that create this classic Margaret River Blend. Each parcel is assessed and picked at its optimum ripeness and brought into the winery for its intended destination. Every pick is kept separately in the winery and is fermented on its skins for at least one months. The wine is then pressed off and sent to a selection of French oak Barrels for twelve months maturation. After barrel aging is complete the wine is carefully blended and prepared for bottling.
This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot with portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot adding complexity. A superbly fragrant nose of dark berry fruits, with hints of anise and forest floor earthiness. The palate is elegant with fine tannins and persistent length. Aged in French oak for twelve months, this wine drinks beautifully now and will benefit from cellaring. Perfectly paired with a Slow Cooked Shredded Beef Ragu & Penne #27 Pasta. 5-Stars James Halliday Winery.
