Levantine Hill is located in Victoria's Yarra Valley and is one of Australia's most premium wine producers. A family-owned estate comprising of two vineyards and a state-of-the-art winery, cellar door and highly awarded restaurant, its wines are handcrafted without compromise by renowned Australian winemaker Paul Bridgeman.
With a state ethos of producing cool climate, delicate and refined wines of uncompromising quality, Levantine Hill has established a world class reputation, winning many major international awards and the acclaim of the leading wine experts.
This wine deliberately eschews the modern style of taut and fine-boned expressions of Chardonnay, offering a defiant reclamation of the middle ground where body, flavour and palate weight can co-exist with structure, texture and measured acidity.
Characters of flint, crème anglaise, white nectarine, lemon zest, honeydew melon, almond meal and cinnamon apple Danish with underlying tempered toasty char and subtle struck match complexity. Medium-tensile acidity supports heft of flavour, weight and intensity. Flavours of white grapefruit, toasted hazelnut, makrut leaf, saltbush and subtle vanillin interplay with tactile chalkiness underpinning a weighty biscuity texture. With the high qualities of such a Chardonnay, spoil yourself with a classic French dish... 'Çoq au Vin Blanc' ie chicken in white wine sauce. Belle!
