Vidal was established 1905 after a long search by Anthony Vidal for a New Zealand wine growing region with natural potential culminated in Hawkes Bay, marking the beginning of an enduring ambition to produce the best possible wine from the New Zealand landscape. This ambition saw Vidal expand to Marlborough to produce outstanding wines for which New Zealand is famous for worldwide.
Vidal Estate is dedicated to environmentally friendly winemaking and sustainable winegrowing practices. This mindset is reflective of the respect that Vidal Estate has for the land and increases quality assurance from vineyard through to finished wine.
The fruit was gently pressed and the juice cool-fermented to retain as
much flavour and aroma as possible. Select yeasts were used to highlight
punchy aromatics or bring out more texture depending on the vineyard
site.
Intense aromas of passionfruit, tropical fruits and fresh herbs lead into a
vibrant and concentrated palate with fresh, juicy acidity. The cooler 2022
vintage brings an element of texture to the wine, complimenting the dry
finish. A true representation of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. A great wine to enjoy on its own or, in particular, matched with fresh shellfish or chicken dishes.
